Resin jewelry step by step: The finished product
Here we are at the end of the resin adventure. I wasnt planning on actually doing anything with either of these pieces but when Ava saw the glittery present, she said “Can you make it a necklace Momma?”……..how could I not.
I glued one of the little “shovels” onto the back of the present resin and I glued the teddy bear to a ring base. When you click on the picture it will take you to Flickr, and I suggest looking at it in a larger size. You are able to see some tiny air bubbles that were trapped under the teddybear image. I am thinking that hitting the first little layer of clear resin with the heat gun before I put the images in there will get rid of it, I’ll try that next time.
And here is a new project that I just dabbled in tonight…..a cute little pumpkin charm. I placed it next to the present resin charm for a size comparison. Anybody know what it is or how I did it? If you have a guess leave a comment. There’s no prize, but Im curious who know’s.
I hope this helped you understand resin a little more. It’s something I really like doing and Im excited to continue working on it and getting better. And as always if you have any questions either leave a comment or get my email on my about me page.
Tomorrow night I should have some pictures of my mod podge project……the second stage is drying in the craft room as I type this! ![]()

Those turned out great!!
Is the pumpkin image a Shrinky Dink?
Oopps- forgot to leave my name above!
I’m thinking it’s shrink plastic (like Laurie said), but the image almost looks like it’s been wood burned. Is that just because you used a brown ink?
Thank you so much for posting this series of tutorials. You have answered every one of my questions and now I don’t have to hunt forever to find the info I need. Thanks!

The pumpkin looks like poly shrink~
Thanks for all the info~ I definitely want to try my hand at this some time soon!!
this is my first time to come to your blog, it is amazing that you are talented to do so many different crafts other than just making cards out of stamping, I am very much impressed by the the “resin”. I am just wondering what is it, where you can buy this “kit” to make the pendent and ring?

Hi, it is me again.
thank you so much for emailing me and letting me know the rest of the tutorials.
I have another question : I used to have some plastic molds for making chocolates and some color plastic mold for making modeling cast/clay that was very popular a few years ago, do you think that those molds can be used for this resin mixture? If yes, I can save the money on molds. Have you ever try using this chocolate molds?
I think the pumpkin pendent was made with polymer clay by stamping the pumpkin on it and baked to finish.
Thanks for providing all these great resin tutorials. I would think there would be loads of info on this topic, but getting what I’ve been looking for has been elusive. This is great information, and I can’t wait to make my own resin jewelry!
Just wanted to say that it is people like you that help other people get started.
When I started I was very lucky to go to a store that had a very helpful guy that was willing to help me solve all my problems. I use a huntsman epoxy resin( I live in Australia and we do not seem to have the products you are talking about) and find that if I leave them on heat mats(that are used for home brewing)I get a beautiful smooth finish. I also don’t use a heat gun but a naked flame to get all the bubbles on the surface.
Good Luck
Rachel
