Simple swap
This is my second to last swap for a while, I have one more using the newest papertrey holiday releases. I think I will “chill” for a while and get moving on my Thanksgiving, birthday party, Christmas cards.
I signed up for a demo only swap on SCS a couple weeks ago and I really waited til the last minute, well technically I have a week left! LOL! I’ll pop these puppies into the priority mail tomorrow and voila! Swap complete.
I had no idea what I was going to do for this swaps cards. It had it’s restrictions; SU only products, current catalog and Christmas themed full sized cards. So I didnt want to make cards with the set I’m using for my own Christmas cards and get burnout. I decided to use my “Wishing you cheer” set that I received in my starter kit.
Instructions:
1. Starting with a piece of close to cocoa CS cut and folded to standard size, I adhered a piece of red 5/8 gg ribbon.
2. Next I cut a piece of white CS to 3×3 and stamped the snow in soft sky then the snowman and tree in stazon black.
3. I colored in the snowman and tree with SU markers; real red, ballet blue, almost artichoke, old olive, summer sun, black and pumpkin pie.
4. I also added Christmas red stickles to the tree, white gel pen to the tinsel on the tree and liquid applique for the snow below the snowman and tree.
5. This was layered onto a 3.25 x 3.25 old olive square, and then again onto a 3.5 x 3.5 real red square. Then it was adhered to the card base using dimensionals.
6. Finally I used my real red marker to ink up the “wishing you sparkle” part of the sentiment and stamped it on the bottom right corner.
Even though this had a bit of coloring and some heating for the liquid applique these came together really quick. A great mass production card.
