What Daddy and the girls have been doing

September 15th, 2007

As I went to take the pictures off the camera today for my card I found these pictures of Sean and the girls while I’ve been out of it.

Ava got a bunch of new fall/winter clothes and it makes her look so grown up! She looks ready for school:

Crafting with Ava

September 11th, 2007

Whenever I make a card with Ava she will draw and color while I stamp. But inevitably she wants to stamp too! She has a preferance to the “Priceless” set, almost always wanting to use it. Today however she was happy to use the ‘Season of Joy” set, and maybe it was because they look so similar!

She stamps with whatever hand I place the ink pad next to, today she used her left hand although she is right hand by nature.  Here are a few pictures of Ava stamping and having fun with the star “hand stamped” and cranberry crisp ink.

Here she is preparing to stamp:

And when she is hard at work:

And then inspecting her latest creations:

We usually go through about 10 different colors and 3 stamp sets before she is done. For her birthday I am going to get her some stampin spots  and a few sets I know she would like. I hope she always stays creative and always finds happiness in art, whatever form it is.

This is how I will remember my afternoons with Ava at age 3, stamping and drawing together.

Quiet

September 5th, 2007

Im feeling quiet. Im in a ’sad sue’ mood. Im extra sensitive and everything is making me cry. Last night Sean and I watched back to back episodes of Dr. 90210. And today at finally 1:40 Im not crying or weepy anymore. I’ll be ok, but these pictures made me smile so I thought I would share.

It’s dress day at our house, so here is Audrey in her cherry dress about to play with some fridge toys:

And then Ava in her new stripey shirt and stripey tights combo:

Hopefully tonight I’ll feel up to doing something creative.

What the kids are doing

I got back from the gym and found some fun pictures on the camera, so I thought I would share.

Here’s little Audrey with her sisters sunglasses on, so COOL!

Cool!

Super cute!

I’ve been estimating that they get about 10% cuter everyday! Im a lucky Momma.

My morning so far…….

August 24th, 2007

It started out great, Ava woke me up at 7:30 her usual cheery self saying “wake up nice and easy”. We snuggled and lazed around in bed for a half hour then got up.

But then it got really messy………………

I got Audrey who was awake and happy, but her diaper had leaked……NICE. Then after breakfast Ava was sitting on the couch and had an accident…….NICE. Clean that up, all is good.

Within about 30 seconds Ava started to meltdown, and Audrey started to meltdown as it was her naptime so I got up to heat up some soy milk for her. When I went to the kitchen Martin was waiting at the door so I let him out. Meanwhile Audrey had turned into Franken-baby and was running around the living room moaning, while Ava was on the staircase crying because the moon is asleep.

Microwave dings and I go to let Martin inside but see he wanted out because he had diarhea. And while Im thankful that it DIDNT happen inside, I know because his fur is way too long that I will need to wash his rump. He comes inside and sure enough his rump looks a little messy. So I swoop him up really fast and take him in the bathroom. But it’s worse, much worse than I imagined. A simple wipe wont do, so I go to wash his rump.

Audrey is still running around but then finds me in the bathroom and comes in to play with Ava’s little potty. So I have Martin in my hands and Im trying to fend off Audrey with my foot, and it only makes her more angry. And Ava is still upset that the moon is asleep.

I got Martin cleaned, Audrey is in her crib with a full belly, Ava is dressed and has an inch of lipgloss on her lips and I am ready to get out of the house!

My Mom has today off and offered me her car to get out and Im taking her up on it. We are dangerously low on groceries and I’d like to go to Whole Foods alone.

UPDATE:

Martin had ANOTHER accident….lovely. Then I went to the store and did my shopping, picking out lovely fruits, veggies and some madelines for Ava. Then I get to the register and no debit card, no credit card…….both sitting at home.  So now, I get to go out again tonight after I stop at my candle lady’s house.

Man, today is a day to stay in bed with the covers up to your nose and watching some Lifetime movie marathon’s. Or better a Beverly Hills 90210 marathon, but Id settle for staying in bed. Oh the life!

Happy with you

August 5th, 2007

On Friday Ava and I had an extra long snuggle time on the couch. During this time there were several helicopters that flew in the sky. Ava is obsessed with anything that flies: birds, butterflies, dragonflies, balloons, kites, airplanes and helicopters. She was making me take endless pictures of her knees, hands and feet, while the helicopter flew by I snapped this one.

Going to the Dr.

July 25th, 2007

Yesterday Ava had to go to the eye Dr. since she keeps getting stye infections. They sent her home with the same ointment they always do and said “She’ll grow out of it”…..frustrating but hopefully they know whats best. She did however get to pick out some super cool glasses from the treasure chest at the office…

So cool

She makes funny faces when she wears glasses, her “cool” face, it cracks me up.

Ava went to Grandma’s to play and when Audrey woke up from her nap she was walking around the house looking for something…..or someone. She missed her sissy.  After dinner there was a rare moment of share time with some of Ava’s favorite toys, she shares but not usually her bucket o’ fishes. This needed to be documented.

Share time

Today Sean will be taking the girls to Great Grandma Lois’ house, since their Grandma Jeanie is in town. They will have a nice afternoon visit I’m sure.  I had daydreams of taking some percocet for my wrist and laying around watching bad soaps, but alas I have an appointment at 6:10, so I cant be totally out of it today. Instead I’ll work on something in the craft room.

One of the cutest things to date

July 17th, 2007

In the past week Ava has been pretending to make food ‘helicoptor’ into someone’s mouth, either a doll’s, or mine and today she did it with Audrey. She holds it high up in the air and swoops it into your mouth….complete with sound effects.

The sound can only be described as a cross between a dinosaur growl, a jack hammer, and a lion roar………NOTHING like a helicoptor. But it is extremely hillarious and makes me laugh so hard I have tears in my eyes. And thankfully she knows Im not laughing “at her” but because it’s so cute and she laughs as well.

Lavender farm

July 16th, 2007

lavender.jpgOn Saturday my Mom and I took Ava to Lavender Hills Farm, in Marysville. It was a hot muggy day on Saturday and we got there around 11:15, the farm was having a festival and a fair with lots of food, handmade items and a lot of people.

The lavender in the field was GORGEOUS and it smelled so wonderful. I cant even describe what it’s like to smell that much lavender, it’s not at all overpowering but just fantastic. Ava had a great time seeing all the bumble bee’s visiting the flowers. They also had an herb garden and flower garden where Ava got to see some Cosmos’, Sweet Pea’s, Black Eyed Susans and sunflowers.  Then there was a honey maker there who had a beehive in plexiglass and we visited them to watch the bee’s do their work. Ava sure loves, bee’s and insects.

My Mom gave me 2 huge bunches of lavender, you could pick your own or buy them pre-cut, with the heat we opted for the pre-cut. Without putting them in water or direct sunlight they are supposed to last forever. I put mine in a hurricane I got from partylite with decorative rocks and they are sitting in the bedroom. It smells wonderful and looks fabulous.

But I will be making a trip back there again in the next few weeks to buy more lavender. It is so inexpensive, $7.00 a bunch of 3 for $15.00. I plan on buying more for my bathroom and also to make bath products out of. I will be making soaps, shower gels and lotions out of it for Holiday gifts. And along with the bottles from specialty bottle, I am in good shape!

Another great thing about the lavender, cats dont like it! I have two naughty, very naughty cats. And both of them have stayed away from it. My Mom is cat-sitting for my sister and brother in-law while they are in Africa and their cat doesnt bother it either! Finally a plant I can have indoors that my cats leave alone!

I really suggest that if you live in the area you head up to the farm, it’s $1.00 for parking and a really beautiful place.
