A challenge and a sketch

June 22nd, 2008

I’ve got 2 cards to share before I hop on the couch and watch 7th heaven!

This first card is for Jen’s sketch for you to try, usuing my unloved wendy papillion fairy and my beloved cosmo cricket “Honey Pie” paper from Jacksonbelle. I would link, but I believe she is out right now.

The next card is made for the Unity Stamp inspiration piece, this week we were to use the banner which has teal, caramel, circles and a flourish. At first I thought I would go with the colors, but I just wasn’t inspired. So then I found the circle and frame from my MM Audrey line and it just went together.

I used two kits on this, beautiful life and flirty flowers. Lots of distress inks and then my embellies from the Audrey noteworthy line from MM.

The weekend flew by waaaaaay tooo quickly. I have something that isn’t quite a card to show you tomorrow. It’s the result of some playing I did. See you tomorrow!

Baby buttercup is here!!!!!

May 21st, 2008

Just as I had placed my last order of chi-chi fairies from Stamping Bella, that sneaky Emily brought out even MORE fabulous images! So a few days later I placed my order for more and I have been patiently (or not) waiting for them to arrive and today was THE day! Once I saw that UPS had my stamps out for delivery I wanted to shout “BABY BUTTERCUP IS HERE! BABY BUTTERCUP IS HERE!!!”

Ooooooooh I am in love….again! I have to admit that I was really hesitant to order Bella’s. First, the shipping is high, second it’s unmounted rubber without cling, and thirdly the images are smaller and tight which I thought might make it less enjoyable to color. But I am happy to say that all of those worries are gone! I have justified shipping because I LOVE everything that I have ordered. And I mount them on EZ mount…..an extra minute before stamping. And these are some of my favorite images to color. I swear they just seem to come to life as I color! If you haven’t gotten any because of similar worries then I suggest you take a deep breath and jump on in!

We have no appointments outside of the house today and I am so excited! I hope your week is going great!

A veggie hello~

May 18th, 2008

I finally got to play with Jen’s sketch for you to try today, and I decided to use another Bella, veggie bella. She hadn’t seen ink before today and she is just so much fun! Actually this sketch is a lot of fun, a lot of possibilities!

I had extra time today so I decided to sew my layers onto the wasabi, I really should do it more often! The sentiment is from my Inkadinkado set, Chelsea Sentiments. It’s a great set with fantastic fonts and useable phrases.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and had some time to play, either inside or out. We had high 80’s weather, but thankfully it’s cooling off! I am in the minority of hating Summer. I like sunshine but hate super hot weather, good thing I live in Washington!

Is she not cute???? I made her and another Bella card today which I’ll show you tomorrow. It started out as Jen’s sketch but it took a turn and I don’t think it will count, lol.

I used my Basic Grey ‘Sugared’ again…….that stack is getting smaller and smaller! It’s a good thing I ordered some of the new Prima paper (this one too!) today! Have you seen it? It’s GORGEOUS!!! Just when I said I wasn’t going to get anymore paper…….

Bloggers Challenge Friday……Absolutely Fabulous!

May 8th, 2008

It’s time again for the blogger’s challenge and this week is appropriately a mother’s day card. I knew I wanted to use one of my many new Bella’s that I just got. I had held off for sooooo long in getting any but then all these sweet fairies kept calling my name and I just HAD to cave in!

absolutely-fabulous

I love her! I added little white dots to her petticoat layer, I wanted it to look like tule. And she has lots of shimmer and sparkles on her dress, wings and flowers from a mixture of spica pens and a stardust pen. The paper is Basic Grey’s Sugared from Jacksonbelle which I like so much more then I expected. I knew I would love it, but these colors are so “me” and I want more of it! The sentiment is from Papertrey’s set, “Mixed messages”. It’s one of those that I never know why or when to use it and I thought for a mother’s day card it worked. Because Mom’s are ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!

I’m off to watch Survivor and possibly Top Model…….thank goodness for TiVo!
