Bloggers challenge and a little extra!
This week’s challenge is insects……pretty easy and fun for me, I love insect stamps! I guess the challenge would be picking out which one I want to use. I chose the ‘Fantastical floral’ set from Unity:
Ah, a butterfly! Probably the most “friendly” or non creepy insect around. Although I think a ladybug is people first choice for insects that don’t bother them. No, I haven’t been watching a marathon of family feud, lol.
Detail for butterfly card: Stamps: Fantastical Floral- Unity Stamp Co. CS: sand, cosmo cricket honey pie, PTI white Ink: memento black Accessories: copics, nesties, ribbon, MM pink lemonade buttons and blossomsAnd since I’m feeling generous again, I thought I would share another card made for a sketch challenge on SCS.
These little images are sooooo darling! And the sentiments are so fun……”Lovin from the oven”.
Those silly clear buttons. I just HAD to have them and I rarely remember to pull them out! I have developed a button obsession, infact I received a new bag o’ buttons today! YIPPEEE!
Oh, and I’ve got a special project that you can see over on the Unity Stamp blog. So if you haven’t been there take a peek!

Blogger’s challenge Friday…….Get out your sunglasses
Because the future is BRIGHT!!!!! And so is this card;
The challenge this week is a color combo; pink, turquoise and GREEN GALORE!!!!!! I have been stressing about this color combo ALL WEEK! This is just so not my normal style and I don’t think it ever will be. I had to go to the SU website and look at the color before I could pick it out of my bright CS pack. I don’t have the ink, the marker….nothing just a few sheets that I had thought about recycling.
This card also fits into the MFT sketch challenge for this week. And speaking of My favorite things…………..
A girl remembers all her firsts: your first kiss, your first best friend, and the first time you talk to one of your stamping idols. I had the EXTREME pleasure of talking to Kim, THE Kim from MFT….she called me, on my phone, AT MY HOUSE!!! And it didn’t matter what she had asked of me I would have done it. Fortunately she asked me to do something legal and something that I wanted to do, she asked me to be on her new special assignment design team! Seriously, there are only a few people that Sean remembers who I’m talking about just by their first name and he knows who Kim is, there is only 1 Kim in our vocabulary.
Now I kind of think of this like CSI and all the other CSI shows: same premise, new actors, new location with some familiar faces showing up. You can find the links to the blogs and galleries of the other talented ladies on Kim’s blog and I will be linking them here soon.
So I hope you will enjoy the ride with me as I create some new projects for Kim and MFT. And thanks for letting me share my excitement and tooting my horn a little about all my good news this week.

Bloggers Challenge Friday…….Black and white
This weeks bloggers challenge was to make a black and white card. And while I know these can be quite elegant and beautiful, for me it was a big challenge simply because I LOVE color! And when I showed my DH the card finished, either it REALLY stinks or he’s so used to color that he called it “A beautiful funeral card”………………..beautiful funeral! I never thought I would make something to get that reaction!
I used my largest scalloped square nestie to cut out papers from the Angelique Prima collection, from Jacksonbelle. Then I added some Queen & co felt to the top, felt flowers again from the Angelique collection, flowers and brads from gina K and the finally I stamped! I used the large flower from MFT’s “Boho blossoms” and turned the edges so it wasn’t stiff looking and placed 3 glitter dots in the center. White brads in the bottom right hand corner are the final touch.
I have no idea how, who, when or why I would use this card. It’s so not me. I think I might take it apart tomorrow for anything salvagable.

Blogger challenge Friday- Animals
I have been such a bad blogger this week, it’s Friday already and I’ve barely shown you anything! I have been very busy though and you should be able to see all that I’ve been working on tomorrow. I didn’t have a card for the bloggers challenge last week, I just couldn’t come up with anything that I liked. Silly reason since the challenge was red, white and blue but I just wasn’t feeling what I was making. This week the challenge is animals and that is MUCH easier for me! I have so many different stamps to choose from so just to throw a curve ball at you, I’m using a stamp with a wee little animal.
In reality a bird on your head probably wouldn’t make you giggle………but MAN I love this stamp! I really like all her stamps, RAchelle Ann Miller, her new releases are just insanely cute! You can view and preorder them here.
Lily got the whole she-bang, copics, distressing, nesties, sewing, primas, buttons, ribbon. Everything that makes me happy to put on a card.
Tomorrow morning I have an early training session at the gym…….7:30 and that makes me scared! And then I will have about an hour lag between heading to University Village and waiting for Sean to pick me up with the girls before our re-evaluation test #2. I’m hoping in the free time between the gym and the UW that I can chill at the Uvillage and find some fun stuff.
I’m really happy it’s friday, the week has taken it’s toll on me and while I have a really important deadline to get to creating my last piece I felt like no matter what I did, it looked like crap. So I stepped away from it and will finish it tomorrow.

Blogger’s challenge Friday……Traveling
The end of the week is here, thank goodness! So that means it’s Friday and blogger’s challenge day! This week’s challenge was a sketch challenge, which I find the most difficult. I hope I didn’t break any challenge rules by changing things a little because I just can’t stick to a sketch as it’s given!
I had to use my new MFT set “Going Places”:
Do you like the map? Notice how everything is green except Mexico, lol?! I guess my map is before global warming, at least that’s the story I’m sticking with! I also wanted to make it worn looking so I put some brown shading around the edges. I just imagined this gal as a jet setting model with her LV suitcase pulling out her map wondering where she is today. She’s obviously looking at Europe on the back.
The flowers are some more new Prima flowers from Jacksonbelle. These are from the artful collage assortment and there are super cool patterns and prints on them. Plus the package is cute sitting on my shelf!
We have our last parent coaching appointment on Monday and then more testing and onto the home ABA therapy. I can’t believe it’s almost time to start and I’m so happy to get on with it! Tomorrow night Ava and I are having another sleepover slumber party only this week we are making cupcakes! She’s just so cute how excited she is to stay up late baking and playing games with mom.
Happy Friday!

Bloggers Challenge Friday……Absolutely Fabulous!
It’s time again for the blogger’s challenge and this week is appropriately a mother’s day card. I knew I wanted to use one of my many new Bella’s that I just got. I had held off for sooooo long in getting any but then all these sweet fairies kept calling my name and I just HAD to cave in!
I love her! I added little white dots to her petticoat layer, I wanted it to look like tule. And she has lots of shimmer and sparkles on her dress, wings and flowers from a mixture of spica pens and a stardust pen. The paper is Basic Grey’s Sugared from Jacksonbelle which I like so much more then I expected. I knew I would love it, but these colors are so “me” and I want more of it! The sentiment is from Papertrey’s set, “Mixed messages”. It’s one of those that I never know why or when to use it and I thought for a mother’s day card it worked. Because Mom’s are ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!
I’m off to watch Survivor and possibly Top Model…….thank goodness for TiVo!

Time to do the bloggers challenge!
So this weeks challenge was a graduation card which is SO VERY HARD for me! My girls are 2 and 4, so nowhere near graduating anything right now, lol. I have never bought a graduation type stamp or anything! Sooooo, here’s what I came up with:
I used the owl from Inkadinkado’s ‘Birds Galore’ set which I got from Jacksonbelle’s and paired it with the basic grey boxer paper. I didn’t find any sentiment that would work for a graduation theme so I printed out the sentiment from my computer. To make the little owl’s cap I cut a 1/2 inch square and topped it with a brad and some hemp! Pretty simple but it just has to do…….I wasn’t buying a special stamp for this one challenge!
Tomorrow is national scrapbooking day and Jacksonbelle is having a sale, 15% off your order! Here is a link to the thread where you can get the code, it’s good Friday through Saturday…..hooray!! And if you’ve never shopped with her before you’re in for a treat because this gal is one fast shipper! I place an order and in a couple of hours I always get the notice it’s on it’s way. I’m starting to wonder if she ever sleeps, lol!!!!
Have a wonderful Friday night! I FINALLY get to pick up my desk tomorrow and finish off my office and take pictures…..what a loooooooong process this has been!
