The non-turkey turkey
So here it is, our vegetarian turkey! It was wild, to open it up and “stuff” the cavity! So funny! And as far as non-meat turkeys go, it’s been the best one we have tried. Sean has been eating it all day today. Plus Martin likes it, and he usually doesnt like any of our faux meats. (Martin’s our dog)
We bought this at Whole Foods and it came with himalayan barely dressing and gravy. My mom and I both liked the dressing, and the gravy was ok at first. But the gravy was overwhelming and ended up being a dud. The “turkey” is supposed to feed 10 people and I believe it, we cut up half of it for Thanksgiving dinner and ended up with a TON of leftovers. We gave my mom all the rest of the sliced turkey and then we kept the other half. Now were gonna be up to our shoulders in leftovers, just like everyone else! I just had to share the picture of it with everyone, cause it’s so weird!
I started some princess, gumball, umbrella, mice, cupcake and ice cream cone hair pretties today. I should have those done by Sunday and up on the site with pictures! Tonight Im gonna work on some of my Christmas cards, the paper is cut and I just have to put it all together!
Filed under Everything else, Family | Comment (1)Im still here…..just busy
The past couple days have been a little extra busy. We had a Dr. appt for Audrey, Thanksgiving shopping, birthday shopping for Audrey. And then this morning…….Christmas AND birthday pictures for Audrey!!! Not bad, we had an appointment first thing in the morning and we were the first there. One of the better experiences and some CUTE pictures too!
I’ve also been making some resin, and I’ll have that to show you tomorrow. I’ve made some super cute hair clips!!!!!! I couldnt be more excited, they are the best ‘idea’ I’ve had yet with the resin. I made apple, pig, rainbow and owl clips! I cant wait to be able to share those with you tomorrow!
I also want to start and finish my Christmas cards over the next few days, as well as make a card or two for the challenges on SCS.
Thank you so much for all the lovely comments on my bubble bath bottles! I do need to mention that the bubble bath I bought at Whole Foods was actually labeled shower gel, but you can use it as bubble bath. Just in case your having a hard time finding it.
I’ll be back tomorrow with some cuteness! I hope everyone is having a great week!

I had this weeks MFT sketch challenge to do and todays way to use it challenge was velvet ribbon. So I thought I might as well combine them. Then last night the free set that I won at the MFT release party came, “Time for the bubbly”. And I was just ITCHING to use it. Even thought I knew it wouldnt be right.
Why didnt I listen to myself?
So yeah, obviously the main image is a rectangle and I tried to fit it in a square. Then when I layered the main large image onto the card I cut off the sentiment in the upper right corner.
This doesnt work. But oh well, there’s always more paper and more cards to make!
Filed under Everything else | Comments (3)Oh, so tired
I am beyond tired, exhausted is truly the word for me right now. I was on a roll working through my tiredness. For weeks I pressed on, while not sleeping well. But it has finally caught up with me and last night I started to cry while I was at Whole Foods. Crying in the produce because I was tired. How great is that? Im sure it was loads of fun for those around me!
Tomorrow, Sean is taking the day off so I can sleep. I plan on sleeping in, lolling around in bed, MAYBE taking a shower……..and then hopefully taking a nice long afternoon nap. Then we are taking the girls trick or treating at Microsoft, and home in time for the Gina K and MFT release parties on SCS. Dont worry if your at MS, I’ll have showered by the time we leave the house!
I am hoping, beyond hope that with the extra sleep tonight and tomorrow morning I will have energy and inspiration to make something…..anything really. There’s a great color challenge on SCS that I really want to play with tonight. And I also have 15 cards for a swap that MUST be sent out tomorrow night. So even with rest I still have something that needs to be done.
I just wanted to let everyone know why I’ve been quiet here. Im just too tired right now to even think straight. I got a few new stamps in the mail last night and thankfully trimming the rubber was a mindless activity that I was able to do. I have some ideas that I want to get to, but I really need to recharge.
Thanks for listening to me ramble, and wish me sweet dreams tonight! I could sure use it!!
Filed under Everything else | Comment (1)Ava’s first candy
Although Ava is almost 4 years old she hasnt had Halloween candy. And last year we took her and Audrey trick or treating at Microsoft (which we are doing again because it’s warm, safe and awesome!) we had to tell her to TAKE the candy. She didnt know what it was and why she was supposed to take it. She wanted the staplers, pens and paper that were in peoples office, not some silly package. When we got home later, she was playing with her candy, sorting it and having adventures. Fun times.
So this morning we had a bag of mixed mini’s on the counter and she saw the shiny bag and asked for one. Being the generous Mom that I am I decided to give her a mini butterfinger. I unwrapped it and she said “Chocolate, mmmmm yummy!” and then it was gone.
I tried to grab some pictures, they are blurry but super cute. While she was eating it she looked really confused. She was totally analyzing the flavor and texture. And she was sure to not let me know how much she liked it. This is what she does when she REALLY likes something, she pretends she doesnt care.
And then after it was swallowed she looked at me, and her eyes say it all. She LOVED it!
So her first candybar experience, it was successful. And I’m really excited for Halloween, she LOVES her spider costume and Audrey is just as cute as a pumpkin! I’ll definately be taking lots of pictures as they make their way through Microsoft for goodies and then for the party and dinner after.
Of course, then it’s back home for the Gina K party and the MFT party on SCS!
I should hopefully be able to make something fun tonight. This weekend was so busy with my treck into the scary city, and then on Sunday it was more shopping for the girls Christmas outfits and my first trip to the Gymboree outlet. Can you say SCORE?!?!?!
Filed under Ava, Everything else, Family, Love | Comment (0)When faced with cuteness, I prevailed.
So I had quite the adventure yesterday. I decided to go to the Amuse store in Seattle to look at the Elzybells in person. I still had a few sitting in my shopping cart and thought I would go and touch them, see if I couldn’t live without them and if so beat the shipping price.
I went to their website and got the directions and my Mom decided to check it out with me since she knew how much I liked them. I think she also might have gone to be the sound of reason with me, knowing I may loose it once I got there and decided to buy EVERYTHING.
Well I ended up buying nothing. The pictures on the website are cute, and the store is very cute but I just felt it was almost misplaced. That store is too cute for the neighborhood it’s in, it belongs on the Eastside. Now for those who dont live in this area I’ll just say upfront that I am definitely a snob when it comes to Seattle. I like downtown and the mixture of millionaires and homeless people, drug addicts and couture. But the surrounding areas of rundown neighborhoods, homeless people, hooker hotels and illegal gun stores isnt my thing. And that cute store was in the latter area. I also dont go into Seattle very often and stay on the Eastside which is more populated with Microsoft employees with manicured lawns and private gated neighborhoods. I dont live in a gated private neighborhood, but after being around it so long in my day to day world it makes the area’s in Seattle more “shocking” to my senses. The store itself is adorable, I just wish it was in a nicer neighborhood with actual parking (not street-side parallel).
They were pretty low on their stock of elzybells and the gal kept running back to see if she had more……I wasnt the only one interested in those cute stamps. I carried around the “wintersong” girl while I looked at the seemingly thousands of stamps. But in the end my trip into the store was just too much, the parking, the beggars, the dirty people (seriously dirty, icky no bathing people) and then the trick or treating kids. I was on sensory overload nearing a panic attack and I had to scoot.
Later in the evening Sean and I took our dog Martin to get groomed and decided to go hang out at the Redmond Town Center. And while I was there I went into Rubber Soul, the most ADORABLE rubber store ever. I love that store. I used to work at the Redmond town center just a few doors down. The store is HUGE and they had memory box, penny black, lockhart stamps, some amuse stamps and lizzie anne designs. It was AWESOME! I quickly sent Sean away to go look at video games in another store so I could look in peace. Oh I found so much that I wanted. But he came back a lot quicker then I thought he would. So trying to hide my shame of stamp addiction I left with only the class schedule.
There arent many stamp stores around here, there is Impress which I love! Alsoin Bellevue and in Seattle at a FANTASTIC, clean and beautiful outdoor mall called U-Village. But besides that the local stamp store is a dying breed. I had a fantastic LSS that was near me but they went out of business a year or so ago, it made me sooooo sad. I bought my first stamps there, the amuse pea pod and a sentiment. And there are a couple in Lynnwood, the mecca for shopping and buying furniture, I swear there are 50 furniture stores there. But I go to Lynnwood about as often as I go to Seattle.
Anyway, no real point to the story only I went to 2 stamp stores in one day which never happens and I didnt buy anything. That and the elzybells are darn cute, but I think I want to see what’s in store for spring and summer. In my mind it’s almost Christmas and I dont have a need for more winter sets. But that wintersong girl is stinkin’ cute.
I hope you have some LSS stores in your area that are fantastic. But if you dont there is always online shopping. And that makes checking the mail FUN!!
I should be back soon with something handmade, my cuttlebug comes tomorrow but I’m waiting on the nestabilities. Maybe I’ll get to that bind it all project I talked about on Friday!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
