THE concert

September 10th, 2007

So I’ve been trying to think of a way to sum up my experience at the Justin Timberlake concert, and pretty much the only word that fits is INSANE!

Every woman from 18-38 trecked to the Tacoma Dome on Saturday night, some dragging their boyfriends and husbands. Even pregnancy couldnt stand between a woman and seeing Justin. The concert was sold out, so about 20,000 people were there.

The Tacoma dome does not have appropriate parking, they run out very quickly. Jen and I had gone there to see the Dixie Chicks last November and had to park about a mile away, this time we had to park about 2 miles away. We learned our lesson last time and wore comfy shoes knowing we would have to walk.

The tickets didnt mention who was opening for Justin but once we got inside the opening act was playing and it was “Good Charlotte”, we missed them perform and we didnt care. It seemed like an odd opening act and all I could think about was if Nichole Richie was there and if she was eating…..wrong and weird but true.

We ended up sitting so freakin’ close! We were about 15 people from the stage, right off the floor. But the way the seating worked it felt like only there were only 5 people between me and my boyfriend. The stage was round in the center with long almost catwalks off all 4 sides, one of them coming right up to where we sat!

When it started EVERYBODY lost it, girls, women and men lost it. He started out the show with ‘Future sex love sounds’ and I have never screamed so much in my life. I acted like a little girl, screaming, using praise hands, it was uncontrollable. When he would come to our side you could see his facial hair, and he was so darn close it was amazing.

He is really born to do this, he is a great performer. His dancing is incredible and all the dancers, singers and his band were perfect. There is no way you cant move when he starts to sing. And if you were there too, I’d dare you to stay calm. There was just so much energy and he was so exciting!

When we left Jen and I had sore throats and we were on a Justin high! We decided next time he came to town we would get just as good seats or better. I am so happy that we went, it was one of the most amazing times being that close to the stage.

Uh, huh

Who do we have here?

justintimberlake.jpg

Oh, my! It’s just a little known singer named Justin Timberlake………

Tomorrow night my sister Jennifer and I will be heading down to see Justin in concert! I bought the tickets about 8 months ago, they went on sale at 9am and I bought them at 11:30 am. When I bought them I selected ‘best in house’, and I ended up with two GLORIOUS seats about 3 rows from the tip top!LOL………But whatever, I get to see him perform and it’s gonna be fun!

The show starts at 7:30 so she is picking me up at 6:00, which means no stamping for me tomorrow night. Also the morning is blocked off with my personal trainer and then the hours between are blocked off with Mommy duty and primping for my boyfriend Justin! So tomorrow looks like a no crafting day. I had originally thought I would dub Saturdays as solder-days, so I could work on my glass soldering more. But not this weekend.

I would take pic’s but Im 99.99% sure they arent allowed. I’ll be back to report on Sunday how it was, I have high hopes for the concert which is unusual, I usually go in with low hopes so I dont get dissapointed. Not everybody does good live shows. But every single time I’ve seen him perform on TV it’s been AWESOME!

Cheers to everyone having a great start to their weekend! I’ll be dancing and shakin my booty tomorrow night enough for everyone.

Fast mail!

August 31st, 2007

On Wednesday I sent Beate my snail mail, and today just 3 days later the beads were here! Wow, that was fast!

And along with the beads came a super, duper cute card. Here’s the beads and the card:

Beate's cute giraffe card

Thank you so much Beate for the fun sketches, beads and fantastic card! It brightened my day for sure~

And by looking at this picture you’d think I had NONE! But really I do, I could have easily added more to the order.

Here is Ava with the whole loot:

And here’s the paper, and on top is a new pretties kit and pewter hodge podge hardware:

Just a little paper

Some crystal brads, eyelets, ribbon and a few stamps:

A few stamps and ribbon

A few punches, snail refils, sherbet and fairytale ribbon:

New punches

And a few boxes of owires, chipboard, sponges, designer paper and a bind it all:

This and that

And now is the time when I thank my husband Sean for allowing me to fullfill my very large order to supply myself with items for all the Holiday, birthday, present preparation of the year.

THANK YOU!!!

And if I dont make a card tonight for bingo or otherwise, I hope you will all understand. I obviously have my work cut out for myself cutting rubber, organizing and wrapping ribbon in my jars!

SURPRISE~

August 29th, 2007

Im pretty sure that most people that read my blog also participate in Beate’s weekend sketch challenges. If not, whatcha waiting for? Every Friday she gives a sketch and a prize and then you have until Tuesday to make a card, or two or three!

I’ve been participating for about 2 months now and frankly I forget that there are prizes. I really enjoy doing them to stretch my creativity and get outside my box. It’s been so helpful for me to realize I can make a card almost on my own, without it being case’d out of the catalog!

Well today as I logged onto her blog fresh and fun I saw my card on it…..I had won! Wowzas! I totally forgot there was a prize.

What a nice and happy start to my day! I have a very large and cute filled order from Gymboree coming today for my oldest and tomorrow I have a bind it all and my SU boxes. I’ll be posting pictures if I dont feel too embarassed at the bounty of it all.

In shock….

So not only was my SU order picked this morning but SOME of it has shipped!

I said some because the thing is 3 boxes full…………

The new member of our family

August 12th, 2007

As I had mentioned before we got a new tv! So I thought I would post some pictures of the old and new tv.

Here is our little old tv, so sad and teeny on the stand:

Old little sad tv.....

And here is the brand new monster, it fits perfectly.

New humngoid tv

And then here is Ava watching one of her favorite DVD’s; Miss Spider.

Buzz-a-bee Heaven

Every year we host a “Scary Movie Night” in October, and I have a feeling this year is gonna be really great!

Confessions of my shopping spree

August 11th, 2007

On Thursday night I succumbed to weeks of “window shopping”. Which can you really say that when it’s on the internet and there arent any actual windows? Anyway, I had been browsing websites for weeks; frugalities, ecelctic paperie, all that scraps, papertrey, Gina K……….you know all the websites I link to.

But Thursday night I just found myself unable to resist and I placed orders with 4 different websites! I started out at EP but then checked frugalities and found a lot of what I wanted over there but much less, so I ordered from both of them. Then I hopped on over to all that scraps and got a few extra things. Then I looked at the new “make a wish” set on Gina K and decided that the wishing well and dandelion stamps had to be mine and with the $7 going to the make a wish foundation…….how could I not? ;)

I just got emails saying that 3 of the 4 had shipped and now I just have to be patient and wait for it all to arrive. Next week will be super exciting to check the mail! I think with the 4 orders from those websites, plus the SU! box, plus 3 other orders for jewelry supplies makes for one exciting mailbox!

And then tonight Sean and I are picking up a delicious or disgusting (depends on how you feel about big TV’s) 42 inch flat panel LCD tv!  We’ve been watching tv on a 20 inch screen for the last few months since we moved back home. We had given away our larger tv because we had always planned on buying a new big one. And last night we found an AWESOME deal at video only in Lynnwood. Now we can hook up our Wii, which we’ve had since December and used oh, 2 times because of tv situations. And then we can hook up the XBox and play some guitar hero! For whatever reason our little 20 inch wont take an adapter and let us play, so Sean has been a little sad to let his XBox sit untouched.

I do have to make a card for Beate’s sketch challenge tonight though, and when I do I’ll post a pic of our new tv……it’s so pretty!

It’s officially official…..

August 11th, 2007

Last night Sean and I were running errands and we stopped off at the post office to drop my SU! demo papers in the mail!

WooooooooooooHooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

Just so it’s all clear, NO I will not be doing workshops or classes or stamp camps…….I am doing this for the discount baby! ;)

When I started to poke around on SCS about 2 months ago I was reading a post about someone asking questions on demo-ship, and when I read it I realized it made sense for me. The quarterly ammount you need to have in sales was BARELY more than what I was spending anyway. But if I spent a little more then I got the discount, which made it even out or better. Plus I get to have advanced notice of new catalogs, new products, new promotions. And I get to order early from the catalogs. Oh, and I can go to convention!

See, half of Sean’s family live in Salt Lake, UT and we always want to visit more, but with the 2 girls it makes it difficult. But now were thinking next summer will be easier since they are a year older and we can visit with them during the evening (well Sean and the girls can be with them all day really) and I’ll go to convention during the day time! And next year is the 15 year anniversary and I was reading on SCS from all the convention goers that next year is supposed to be EXTRA cool!

Oh, I’m so excited! New stamps, the in-colors ink pads and paper and some needed supplies are on their way!
