Where did the day go?

September 24th, 2007

Today just zooooooomed by! My goodness, Im just now sitting down and realizing I had NO craft time!

I had to take Audrey to a Dr. appt this morning, then came home and worked out then I had a Dr. appt! Then I came home to make some spicy ethiopian food for dinner, yummy. And I just got finished packaging up mail, cards and other items to ship out.

Tomorrow I have to stamp and make something! I didnt get to yesterday or today and Im already feeling the itch to get creative.

I hope everyone has had a great start to their week, the weekend went by way too fast!

If you give your kid a camera……

September 20th, 2007

You just might find 125 pictures on it! And about 100 of them were pictures of the tv, LOL!

I have started to let Ava play with our camera, it’s a bit older, as old as she is….almost 4. And its very sturdy, and she is also very gentle with it. She takes surprisingly good pictures for a little girl, and yesterday she snapped away. I thought for fun I would share the 3 that made me smile.

Ava and Audrey both love Curious George on PBS. And there is an episode that Ava especially loves, involving a little kitten named lucky. Naturally, many of the pictures were from that episode.

What Daddy and the girls have been doing

September 15th, 2007

As I went to take the pictures off the camera today for my card I found these pictures of Sean and the girls while I’ve been out of it.

Ava got a bunch of new fall/winter clothes and it makes her look so grown up! She looks ready for school:

Crafting with Ava

September 11th, 2007

Whenever I make a card with Ava she will draw and color while I stamp. But inevitably she wants to stamp too! She has a preferance to the “Priceless” set, almost always wanting to use it. Today however she was happy to use the ‘Season of Joy” set, and maybe it was because they look so similar!

She stamps with whatever hand I place the ink pad next to, today she used her left hand although she is right hand by nature.  Here are a few pictures of Ava stamping and having fun with the star “hand stamped” and cranberry crisp ink.

Here she is preparing to stamp:

And when she is hard at work:

And then inspecting her latest creations:

We usually go through about 10 different colors and 3 stamp sets before she is done. For her birthday I am going to get her some stampin spots  and a few sets I know she would like. I hope she always stays creative and always finds happiness in art, whatever form it is.

This is how I will remember my afternoons with Ava at age 3, stamping and drawing together.

Uh, huh

Who do we have here?

justintimberlake.jpg

Oh, my! It’s just a little known singer named Justin Timberlake………

Tomorrow night my sister Jennifer and I will be heading down to see Justin in concert! I bought the tickets about 8 months ago, they went on sale at 9am and I bought them at 11:30 am. When I bought them I selected ‘best in house’, and I ended up with two GLORIOUS seats about 3 rows from the tip top!LOL………But whatever, I get to see him perform and it’s gonna be fun!

The show starts at 7:30 so she is picking me up at 6:00, which means no stamping for me tomorrow night. Also the morning is blocked off with my personal trainer and then the hours between are blocked off with Mommy duty and primping for my boyfriend Justin! So tomorrow looks like a no crafting day. I had originally thought I would dub Saturdays as solder-days, so I could work on my glass soldering more. But not this weekend.

I would take pic’s but Im 99.99% sure they arent allowed. I’ll be back to report on Sunday how it was, I have high hopes for the concert which is unusual, I usually go in with low hopes so I dont get dissapointed. Not everybody does good live shows. But every single time I’ve seen him perform on TV it’s been AWESOME!

Cheers to everyone having a great start to their weekend! I’ll be dancing and shakin my booty tomorrow night enough for everyone.

I was right

What the kids are doing

I got back from the gym and found some fun pictures on the camera, so I thought I would share.

Here’s little Audrey with her sisters sunglasses on, so COOL!

Cool!

Here’s Ava with Daddy giving a pinkie wave:

Super cute!

I’ve been estimating that they get about 10% cuter everyday! Im a lucky Momma.

Happy with you

On Friday Ava and I had an extra long snuggle time on the couch. During this time there were several helicopters that flew in the sky. Ava is obsessed with anything that flies: birds, butterflies, dragonflies, balloons, kites, airplanes and helicopters. She was making me take endless pictures of her knees, hands and feet, while the helicopter flew by I snapped this one.

Going to the Dr.

July 25th, 2007

Yesterday Ava had to go to the eye Dr. since she keeps getting stye infections. They sent her home with the same ointment they always do and said “She’ll grow out of it”…..frustrating but hopefully they know whats best. She did however get to pick out some super cool glasses from the treasure chest at the office…

So cool

She makes funny faces when she wears glasses, her “cool” face, it cracks me up.

Ava went to Grandma’s to play and when Audrey woke up from her nap she was walking around the house looking for something…..or someone. She missed her sissy.  After dinner there was a rare moment of share time with some of Ava’s favorite toys, she shares but not usually her bucket o’ fishes. This needed to be documented.

Share time

Today Sean will be taking the girls to Great Grandma Lois’ house, since their Grandma Jeanie is in town. They will have a nice afternoon visit I’m sure.  I had daydreams of taking some percocet for my wrist and laying around watching bad soaps, but alas I have an appointment at 6:10, so I cant be totally out of it today. Instead I’ll work on something in the craft room.

Memories…..

July 18th, 2007

When Sean and I moved into our townhouse over 3 years ago, we were the first one’s here. There were about 4 buildings built but 3 of them were still being finished on the inside, the rest of the area was dirt.

It was really quite interesting, the area was extremely quiet except for the construction, but even with that it was still more quiet than you would expect. The construction was up the road from us so it wasnt too close by and kept it quiet. We also never heard the new neighbors move in. And when the construction was done in the back and people were living there it was a surprise to see people driving up the road.

I do remember one of the first mornings we were here, I dont think the construction workers knew anyone had moved in, because one of them drove in blazing The Doors.  It was the only morning that happened. But once the construction moved around to the back of us we heard it more. And we also got to hear them at lunchtime. The majority of the constructions workers were hispanic and at lunch a food truck with specialty foods, taco’s and other yummy smelling items drove in to feed them. There would be wonderfully cheerful and sometimes really loud mariachi music playing while they took their lunch break. A few times during their break I would take Martin to check the mail and everyone would smile and say hi. It was a real treat and special to see this entire neighborhood built from the ground up.

Today, Im reminded of this because it’s Wednesday….which means the landscapers come to mow the lawn, trim the bushes, weed whack and everything else they do weekly. The landscapers are primarily hispanic as well, and since the windows are open in the summer I can hear them on their lunch break with the mariachi music. It doesnt bother me, I actually like it. And it reminds me of when I was pregnant with Ava and we had first moved in and we were so excited. Its nice to remember things like that when you are usually looking to the future and figuring out what you want in your next house.
