Hip-Hop Accessories
When I received Melanies new set “Hip hop accessories” in the mail I was blown away, I mean 50 stamps is a LOT to take in! Then I started looking at the mini images and when I see mini images my mind goes to resin. So I decided to make a few accessories with the hips and hops!
I used one of the altoid tins that Gina sells and started with the top using the frame from Melanies set “Whats in your tin?” #1 and stamped the mini crown in versamark, the title in purely pom ink and then the butterfly from “Just so Hoppy” in lilac. Then I adhered the label and glued two brads on the sides and covered the top in clear baubles from Michaels. The edge was wrapped in pink ribbon and then on the bottom of the tin I alternated more baubles. I wanted it to look like a sparkly jewel, perfect for a little girl. I also lined the inside with ribbon and a bottom layer of paper on the tin.
Inside the tin are two hair clips and a bracelet with a charm. I cut out and colored the crown and embedded it into clear resin with a layer of glitter and then pink resin.
Isn’t it so cute? I made this for a special little girl who is celebrating a BIG victory soon, I am holding onto it until it’s time to celebrate. I thought for a little girl the crowns, sparkles and hair clips would have made me so happy as a little girl. Well obviously, they STILL make me happy, lol!
And I have a little peek of another piece I’ve been working on that I’ll show more tomorrow. The recipient of the treasure box has a little sister and I don’t want to send something without her getting anything. So here’s a peek at a little kangaroo pendant I’m finishing up.
Sean is on vacation this week and next and tomorrow is MY day! So after I meet my trainer and go to physical therapy (my darn ribs have moved…….she’s gently trying to push them back in place, lol) then I get to come home and STAMP, STAMP, STAMP!!!!! I have lots to do and lots to show so hold on tight, there’s a lot to look at this week!
Happy hump day!

Today I thought I would share 2 cards I’ve made with Gina’s new ‘Free with 3′ set called “Comfort and Peace”. I just love the flower images in this set, they make the most beautiful background.
When I first saw the set though my thoughts were to make a bright and cheery card. The flowers were so pretty, I just wanted to make them bright and happy. So I paired it with last month’s Free with 3 set, “Spring Blooms”, and some of SU’s ‘bali breeze’ DSP.
I have been so busy this weekend crafting and creating. I have so much more to share over the next few days from Gina K’s new releases, including something FUN and FANTASTIC using 3 or Melanies sets……I can’t wait for it to be finished!
I also have some sneak peeks of Treehouse stamps new releases, so be sure to check back tomorrow!

I can’t help myself from singing that song to myself whenever I see the name of this super cute Gina K set! It’s called “Owl always love you” and I am in love with it! I shrieked when I opened up the envelope and saw these sweet owls.
Aren’t they sweet? I had so much fun coloring them. Even though my craft room is STILL not finished and it’s not really great to work in, these birdies made me want to create all afternoon!
You can see more of this great set and other sneak peeks by visiting Gina K’s blog! And don’t forget about the release party tonight on SCS, there’s sure to be lots of fun and challenges!
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back soon, I have some EXTRA special projects in the works for Gina’s release! I hope your weekend is going GREAT!

I realize I have been MIA this past week, sorry! My craft room is taking a teensy bit longer to re-do then I planned, so it’s been difficult to even get into the room some days. Today Sean installed my floating desks on the length of one of the walls and I was able to set up a nice station with my lightbox, sewing machine, paper trimmer, scor-pal, cuttlebug and some extra paper. Next weekend we should finally be able to put in my desk and then it will all be settled and I can show you some pictures!
Here is another one of the cute Kindred Spirits stamps from Gina K, this time I used Rebecca. This image just tugged on my heart when I saw it, and I think a lot of mom’s will feel that way too. I’ve been in a big baby mood lately, I miss my little pudgies!
I used my new Honey Pie by Cosmo Crickett on this, LOVE that pad of paper! I got it at Jacksonbelle, and she has always done a wonderful job in getting my schtuff FAST! LOVE that!!!
I’m going to try to be more productive this week, I have 2 days without any appointments……and I have no idea how that happend! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, see you tomorrow!

” My name is Sara and I live in California. I am a stay at home Mom with three great children. Life in California is so wonderful. We live near San Diego and enjoy beautiful weather. It seems like we are always outside! I really enjoy Tuesdays because my kids go to my sister-in-laws house for a play-date and that’s the day I use to do my housework. Sometimes it’s hard to stay at home. I miss the adult conversation. But I love my children so much and I love being a Mom.Every two years, my husband and I take our kids on a trip to Japan to visit my grandmother. It’s a fabulous country! It has the most beautiful turquoise beaches and beautiful snow-capped mountains. My grandmother always make homemade Miso Tofu soup for my children. They love it!I miss my grandmother so much and I wish we lived closer but it’s a wonderful excuse to visit the country where my family is from.”

Last week I received my new PTI colors, I had ordered the lighter pink “sweet blush” in CS, an ink spot and 2 ribbons. I also ordered a bit of aqua mist in CS, ribbon and an ink spot. The sweet blush is just the most lovely shade of pink! I have always loved SU’s pretty in pink but this is just a little lighter and almost more heavenly.
I paired it with soft sky and old olive for the card below:
So first, I just LOVE this card! I LOVE the CHF BG!!!!!!! This is my favorite BG of all time, ever! I love how simple it is and yet it doesn’t need anything else. And I love the glittery popped topiaries.
I needed to make a card for a friend who needs some hugs and this is just making me really happy and I hope it makes her a little brighter. And then this was also a prototype for some swaps Im doing. If your part of my swap something similar will be coming to you!
There was plenty of play time this weekend, with the girls and for myself. So I have a lot more to show this week! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
Stamps: Thinking of you-Gina K Pretty Pattern BG-CHF
Ink: adironadck pitch black, sweet blush-PTI
CS: sweet blush, white-PTI, soft sky, old olive-SU
Accessories: SU glitter, glue pen, dimensionals, corner rounder, 5/8 GG ribbon, copics
And if you threw a party, invited everyone you knew….
Recognize the title of my post? It’s only part of the most fabulous song ever, the theme song to ‘The Golden Girls’! I love my Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia!!! Every day my TiVo saves them for me and I watch them at night when the girls are asleep. It’s my favorite show of all time.
And Carolyn King must have been feeling my vibe when she designed her new set “Framed Flowers” because look at the sentiment she put in there:
That’s right…….Thank you for being a friend!
Besides that AWESOME stamp, the rest of the flower stamps in the set are wonderful too!
And here’s another card I made using Rupa Shevde’s new set “Thinking of you”. It’s also part of my challenge on the Gina K forums at SCS, to make a scene.
I am loving having a sewing machine! Bet you couldn’t tell! Now if I was only brave enough to change the thread by myself!!!
Well I’m off to relax, have some chocolate brownie ice cream and watch…..you guessed it “The Golden Girls”!
Filed under Gina K cards, SCS challenges, copics, sewing | Comments (11)A fun little card
I’ve been on a roll today with stamp time! So I decided to tackle 2 challenges, one for Carolyn’s blog, a color challenge; lilac, celery and the optional yo-yo yellow. And I took that option, but just a touch! The second challenge this is for is Beate’s weekend sketch! And I have taken another liberty with the sketch and I’m calling the flourish under and behind the stork the rectangle that she uses in the layout. If you squint, you can see the resemblance between my card and her sketch!
Ok, three things with this card:
1) The flourish, can either be a beautiful flight pattern of flowers and happiness. Or the more I’m looking at it, it kind of looks like delightfully happy bird poo. But I am still on my nyquil high, so I’ll leave it up to you to see what you want.
2) I have sanded behind the sentiment………AGAIN!!! Last week I was addicted to the word window punch for my sentiment. But if you look at pretty much every card that I have posted in the last few days (and another one I will post later) you’ll see that the sanding block is getting a workout.
3.) Aren’t those little button brads C-U-T-E?!?!?! Those are another new Gina K bling and dazzle embellishment! I just had to use them with this little baby card.
Ok, I have one more thing to share tonight and then I’m off to work on some secret squirrel projects!
Stamps: How sweet it is-Gina K
Ink: Palette noir, SU markers in lilac, celery, blush, yo yo yellow and pumpkin pie

More sneak peeks!
Tomorrow night is Gina K’s new release party! You can check out all the fun at the SCS forum, HERE!
And today I can show you a sneak peek of a new set from a brand new artist! Her name is Rupa Shevde and you can visit her website here.
The card I made uses her new set called ‘Thinking of you’ and it is full of the cutest images and sentiments. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it!
This is a large card, 5.5 x 8.5! But I really wanted to use the cute topiaries on either side of the table. Plus I figured if the sentiment said “Thanks for listening” then a large card would be good since you probably have a lot to say!
The greenery was stamped with olive ink on celery paper, then cut out and popped up on top of the stamped image. I also brought out the sewing machine again, and it STILL didn’t break!
And do you see those fabulous rhinestone brads are a new Gina K “Bling and dazzle” sneak peek! Oooh, la la!!! I love sparklies!
Happy Sunday everyone, I ‘ll be back with some more peeks tomorrow!

Hello my honey, hello my sweetie, hello my ragtime gal!
This frog totally reminds me of Michigan J. Frog from the Bugs Bunny cartoons. The super cute froggy that sings showtunes and dances with a top hat and cane for the guy who rescues him, but not anyone else. I have thought about drawing a little top hat for him but I haven’t done that…..yet.
See those big eyelets? I’ve had them for almost 6 years! When I got them, they were in a kit and I had no greens that matched so they just sat. When I was digging through my stuffs to add a little somethin’ somethin’ to the card I saw them and they matched the wild wasabi! Hooooooray, now I can use them!
Sorry I’ve been missing the past few days, this last week kinda kicked my butt. And I was working on some stuff last night, but you won’t be able to see it until early next week though. And then today I started this card in the afternoon and forgot to finish it until this evening. What a treat it was to come to a card that was “almost” done!
Oh, and my Anne of Green Gables movie was FABULOUS! I actually LOVE that miniseries. I always liked it when PBS would do the telethons and play it all weekend. I’ll be back soon with something else to look at, promise!
(and I have not forgotten the tutorial for the diaper bag favors, I just could not get to it today. But tomorrow night looks like it will have an opportunity for me to do it!)
