Postcard from Paris
I decided to tackle 2 sketches this weekend, and here is mine for Lauren. I took some liberty with the sketch and ommited the second circle and I’m having it represented with the love bird.
I really LOVE this set! I got 2 crafty secrets stamp sets and a pad of paper and I just love them! I love a lot of their sets actually! And you see that diamond pattern at the bottom? I think that might be my new favorite. Kind of like Beate’s obsession with the all in a row stamp!
I have to clean my craft room, it is sooooo messy and I cant stand it! I will do that tomorrow though, because tonight is DATE NIGHT! Hoooray!

Here’s my take on Lauren’s Saturday sketch using my new Lockhart stamp, a yummy bowl of strawberries! I was inspired this morning on my eliptical machine when I realized I had a TON of this blue gingham ribbon laying about. I decided that it would be super cute in the layout with my strawberry stamp.
I finally used my rubber soul gift certificate last Monday and I had a hard time keeping myself within budget. There are too many cute stamps! But I decided on this strawberry stamp because it reminds me so much of my girls. They are both strawberry fiends, but Audrey is the biggest strawberry lover! In fact we just bought a big container of strawberries at Whole Foods the other day and the girls have been eating away at them. The winter months are so hard for good strawberries, they can hardly wait for summer and all the yummy fruit!
I like the white ticking around the card, I think it adds a nice touch of homeyness to it, along with that gingham! A perfectly perfect Summer card in the middle of December!
I should have a TON of stuff to share tomorrow! I am working on some new pendants, a journal and I also hope to get some soldering done. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Happy cupcake day!
I was beyond lucky and thrilled yesterday to receive my MFT stamps I ordered on Wenesday night. And while I was making my presents for all our out of state family, I took a break to try Lauren’s sketch.
She wanted us to use a tiny image, and really I dont buy that many. If they come in a set then I happen to have one. But Im pretty good at restraining myself because small images are for me, hard to work with. And since I know this I deny myself some super cute stamps. But luckily my “icing on the cake” set has a SUPER cute cupcake and I wanted to use it for her sketch.
I also happened to have my new “Ginger blossom” DSP out so I decided to play with those colors. My mind is a bit mushy after 2 days of straight gifting and crafting. I needed it easy.
Isnt that cupcake cute? I added liquid applique and some irridescent EP on top before heating it so it’s sprinkled and ready to eat! I also used a mini red rain dot (from Gina K’s store) for the cherry! That little tiny envelope has been kicking around my craft supplies for 5 years, along with that tag. It was from a scrapbook kit I bought a loooooooooong time ago and I finally decided today was the day to use it.
I’ll be right back with some cute gifts I made today!

Sweet hedgie love
I had to play along with Lauren’s sketch today. So I decided to use some things I rarely touch; cranberry crisp, fun and fast notes and a piece of DP I bought from all that scraps a month ago. The sentiment that matches the hedgie didnt fit well into the space I wanted it to, so I used the sentiment from another stamp in the set. So now, little hedgie and butterfly are in love! That makes me smile!
The hedgie was stamped in palette noir and colored with pastels, then the butterfly was colored with copics. I also couldnt let the hedgie and butterfly be floating in space so I made a little ground and sky for their romantic setting!
Sean and I got into a little accident last night. It started snowing really HARD yesterday and we decided to go out and run errands in case it froze over, we were totally low on groceries. So my Mom came over to watch the girls and out we went. We went to dinner and the store and Target, all freezing and a good 8 inches of snow and ice on the ground. Then coming out of Target we hit ice and BAM into the sidewalk! It took off our hubcap and dented the rim into our tire making it impossible to drive.
Anyway, 2 hours later we made it home with a lift from a tow truck. And yes, with our groceries. Ugh…..so now our 1 car is down to ZERO. We were trying to hold out on 1 car until we moved this Spring/Summer but I dont know how much longer we can. Having 1 car SUCKS hardcore, but it sucks even more when that car is in the shop.
Not to be Debby Downer, but last night was not a fun date night. Tomorrow Im supposed to have my therapy (hooray!) appointment, but I dont think I’ll make it. Maybe it will be a phone in appointment. Hope your weekend was a good one!

So I decided to try out a sketch by Lauren today and wouldnt you know I goofed a bit! I decided to take the liberty in turning one of the layers into a layered flower, but I didnt realize that layer was such a substantial layer! Anyway, it looks similar…..yet not quite the same.
I also wanted to make something Spring inspired since I’ve been making nothing but Christmas cards for the past 2 days! I needed a breath of fresh air!! So I pulled out my my “And everything nice” set, it’s such a friendly little set!
Isnt it happy and fresh and cute? I love those velvet blossoms from maya road! And I had to give her a nice blue sky, so I made a mask and sponged some pretty blue sky. She was colored with my copic markers and I decided to make her a little ginge! I had a friend with a curly ginger haired boy, he was super cute!
Tonight Sean and I are taking the girls over to my mom’s house for my birthday dinner! I know for sure she is making me some manicotti, Italian salsa which is tomatoes and lots of cheese on small bread rounds all toasty and melted (YUMMY!), and for dessert she is making lots of little bites; brownies, lemon bars and other suprises! How fun!!! Im hoping I get that scor-pal I heavily hinted at, LOL!
Then later after the girls are asleep Sean and I are putting up the Christmas tree! And maybe I’ll have something new to play with! I also have a new video game, but we’ll see how much crafty fun loot I get tonight! Thanks for all your kind birthday wishes, they mean a lot!
