My new space!

May 7th, 2008

So a while ago I mentioned I was re-decorating my craft room, and it was finally finished this weekend! Hooray! So I thought I would share some photo’s of my new space!

These are my wall mounted desk with all of my prepping tools on the right; paper trimmer, scor-pal, almost antique sewing machine (THANKS MOM!!!) On the left is my less used paper, cuttlebug and photobox.

Now we have my new storage unit! It has all my stamps, either in the SU boxes, Gina K tins or in the olive and cream boxes. I also have my bind it all stuff, lots of DP, alterables and my jars of ribbon:

And my new desk, which has so much room for everything! It also has a hanging file drawer for my most used cardstock. It took me almost 4 hours to get everything organized and put away on Sunday…..but everything had to have a place.

And I found this cute little planter at Michaels for $4 for my copics, which all fit perfectly. The whole set of ciao’s, if your wondering how many there are.

And last this sweet little box. Again, it was from Michaels at the bargain price of $2!!! Currentlyl it has my cuttlebug folders and dies in it, but really I just like looking at it!

And there you have it! I have 3 out of 4 walls in the room and Sean has the missing 4th wall. Which looks very manly and office-like.

Thanks for taking a peek at my work-space! Now you can imagine where I’m sitting when I make something, lol.

Nice and tidy

A few days or maybe a week ago I posted a picture of my nice organized space. I thought I would go into more detail as to what is inside the drawers of my filing cabinate and how I store my stuff.

Here is my stamping corner to jog your memory:

Corner office

Here is the top drawer of the filing cabinate under my desk. It holds my adhesives, cutting supplies like scissors, punches and paper piercer. It also holds my most used supplies, bone folder and pen.

Adhesives and cutting supplies

Here is the second drawer which I’ve dedicated to coloring supplies; pastels, watercolor crayons and sponges. It’s also the drawer that holds my bulky yet seldom used paper crimpers. The box that is holding my sponge daubers was part of a set from QVC that I bought years ago. I never really used the contents of the box so I decided to turn it into a storage unit for items that I actually use!

Coloring, shading and misc. drawer

And then the boring paper drawer. I had bought the folder tabs off ebay years ago for a few dollars, it was a cheap but really useful item to buy.

Paper drawer

And I think that is the end of the tour of my craft space. When I get my jewelry table nice and neat I may take a tour of that. And of course if I find a more efficient way of doing things I’ll be sure to share!

Today Sean installed my craft organizers, and I got completely set up. And I LOOOOOOVE these organizers, I cannot reccomend them enough to everyone. If you need something to keep all your loose stamps, glitters and other goodies within reach and in sight so you’ll use them then definatley get one! Also if you’d like something for your inkpads, and you’d like them OFF your desk to give you more space……these are awesome!

Here is my space that is now nice and tidy:

Corner office

I have all my stamp pads, both stazon and SU in my 70 count organizer to the right. On the left is the multi organizer which is holding my loose wood stamps, embossing powders, stickles, SU wheels, blender pens and heat gun. Under my desk to the right is a filing cabinet with two drawers. The top drawer holds all my adhesives and cutting supplies like scissors and punches. The second drawer holds my stampin pastels, WWC, sponge daubers, and different paper tools. And then the large hanging file drawer has all my 8×11 cardstock.

The silver shelving unit holds my stamps, made cards organized in boxes, large boxes of supplies and prisma pencils. I used to have 2 of these, but now I have things organized so well I only need one.

Just to the right of the shelves, but not in the picture is my jewelry making desk. That isnt as organized and is my project for tomorrow. It has all of my resin supplies, glass soldering supplies and jewelry findings.

The other side of the room is Sean’s side, his desk and then our printers and office machines. We also have a chair and ottoman in the room as well. And in the middle of the room we plan on putting a desk and chairs for the girls to sit and color with us.

This room was a family room/tv room/playroom for the girls. But when we moved back in we decided to make it an office for us. I have to admit that at first I felt guilty taking the extra space away from the girls. But they each have their own rooms and there is more than enough space in the living room for all of their toys and for it to be hidden as well. Now that I use my space 6 days a week that guilt is gone, I LOVE having this space.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day today. Sean and I took the girls today to a surprise 30th birthday party for our dear friend Biju. It was a wonderful success……he was surprised! And the girls had so much fun with all the other children and lovely family there.

Hopefully tomorrow I will get my jewelry table organized and I can work on some soldering and post more pictures of creations! Have a great night~

Another step towards ultimate organization!

I have been wanting to get a new stamp pad organizer for quite some time. When SU came out with their system I got it, but I didnt really like it. It was heavy, mine didnt spin very well and I didnt like how much space it took up on my desk. And lately I cant seem to find enough space. Once my Holiday swap is done tonight, I will clean off my desk. At least that’s what I keep telling myself! ;)

So I have been looking online and came across this website, my craft solutions. And after looking at their products I decided that I would like something that wall mounts so that my desk is clean! Last night I took the plunge and ordered two products.

First, the stamp pad organizer. It has 70 slots for stamp pads, enough for my 48, the new in-colors and my random ink pads.

And then next I ordered a supply organizer. This will come in real handy with all my single wood stamps, glitters, embossing powders and small jars of goodies! And it has two hooks on the side for hanging heat guns or other tools.

Once they arrive and I get everything set up, I’ll take pictures of my nice and tidy space.
