Tea time with Lily
I was poking around splitcoast last night when the sketch challenge was posted and since I was up I decided to play! I wanted to use one of my new stamps, Springtime Lily. She is so cute and sweet and although I’m not usually drawn to children stamps or Magnolia’s (I certainly LOVE seeing what other’s create with them) I just had to order her!
I used my Prima paper “Tea and silk ” that I got from Jacksonbelle and colored her with my copics:
The layers are all from the prima pack, the pink and patterned pink are the same sheet, just reversed. I love the soft colors of this card!
I am hoping to go to the copic cretification in Seattle next month. I filled out the application and 3 projects, yes I had to submit my projects! It seems like copic is open to teachers first then designers, so I’m really crossing my fingers I get in.
Alright, I’m off to wake up a sleepy head napper!
Details:
Stamps: Springtime Lily
CS: aqua mist and white-PTI, Tea and silk- Prima from Jacksonbelle
Ink: adirondack black, antique linen
Accessories: nesties, copics, flowers and buttons from MM, cystals and MAMBI rhinestones from Jacksonbelle
Pamper yourself!
Todays technique challenge is called tole, which gives lots of dimension! We were to stamp multiple images and layer them, 4, 3 and 2 times. I also decided to combine it with the MFT sketch challenge.
The bathtub was cut out and popped up 4 times, the bubbles were cut out and popped up 3 times, the legs are popped up twice. I turned the mirror into a frame and paper pieced the wall paper. I really love how all the colors look together, I would LOVE it if I had a bathroom like this!
I’m so excited since Sean and I went to Ikea this weekend! I found an AWESOME desk for me and a new storage unit! I am hoping to paint this weekend and install a shelf along one side of my craft room. I want it to have my sewing machine, photo box, paper trimmer and scor-pal on it, so it’s pretty long. Right now I am thinking about painting a shade similar to PTI’s aqua mist, but maybe a little creamier and lighter. All the furniture is a brown black so it’s really going to pop against the light walls!
I only have one appointment today, but this week is going to be crazy! I hope I can get my to-do list done!
The DEETS:
Stamps-Time for the bubbly-MFT
Ink: adirondack pitch black, cocoa
CS: PTI white, cocoa, bali breeze DSP, basic grey
Accessories: copics, dimensionals, spica pen, stickles, ribbon, circle punches, slit punch
You make my heart sing!
The sketch challenge on SCS is probably my most FAVORITE of all the challenges, each week I look forward to it. I think I enjoy it so much because it isnt a challenge that requires items I might no have . Plus they are always posted late Tuesday night so it gives me a chance to work on it before bed.
I decided to whip out one of my favorite sets, ‘bird notes’ from Crafty Secrets. I’ve been seeing that new larger bird set and I think I’m going to have to get it. I just love birds.
Tons of sponging, and more sponging on this. Plus some good ol’ paper piercing on the ends for a little something.
And now my brain is mush and I have to go to bed! I’ve recently started taking some ambien to help with my insomnia and it’s working. Although I’m not used to being so tired, normally I’d have another couple hours of “up” in me!
I’ll have something sweet and soft for your tomorrow!
Stamps: Bird notes-crafty secrets
Ink: adirondack pitch black, antique linen distress linen, close to cocoa
CS: sahara sad, real red-SU white-papertrey cosmo cricket DP
Accessories: copics, dimensionals, paper piercer and template, sponge, gold brads
A fun challenge and brand new stamps!
Todays limited supply challenge on SCS is to use the same stamps, same DSP and any tools and embellishments but make 2 or more different cards. It really doesn’t seem that limited to me because I could pull out any punches, nesties, ribbons, brads, etc and all of those make such a difference on a card. But it was also so much fun, so I just HAD to play along.
This is a new set from Treehouse stamps called “Prehistoric Pals” that was just released today! It is so super cute and it filled a void in my stamp supply for dinosaurs!
I wanted to add some dimension with the volcano’s so I cut them out but now I think they look icky so I’ll scratch that next time I do a card like that. I do like my little dew drops on the card for extra chunks of lava!
Alright, off to bed I’m starting to get sleepy. I have my usual Friday madness coming up with back to back appointments so I’ll be really happy when tomorrow evening rolls around.
TGIF!

Today I finally used the *perfect* ink for me and copics……adirondack pitch black! I had been using graphite brilliance black, but it needed to be heat set…….I am too impatient even with that small little step! It was seriously driving me banana’s! Then sometimes if I was feeling lazy I would use palette noir, but it would run if I went over the line. Anyway, I have seen on some other bloggers supply lists the pitch black so I decided to order some from Ellen’s store. I also ordered my first CHF stamp, “Pretty Pattern” BG, I LOVE it!
So I used my new goodies and one of my favorite, although terribly neglected sets from Crafty Secrets for todays SCS sketch challenge:
I’m really digging that scalloped bottom, it reminds me of an apron!
This past weekend we got Audrey some new toys. After watching her at her different therapists and seeing what she is attracted to I went through our current toys and got some to put away and some to give away. Ava has always liked musical and light up toys but Audrey hasn’t been interested in them. She loves stacking, nesting and building toys. Luckily the kind she likes are CHEAP, lol! I also found the most awesome bubbles! They don’t leave a film on our hardwood so we don’t worry about the girls slippin’ and sliding after blowing a lot. And then I got a big tub of foam stickers from Michaels and the girls and I have been decorating the patio door every day.
This is HUGE for me! I have OCD and stupid things like making messes with stickers have been something I just would not do, especially sticking them to a nice clean glass door! But something has changed (slightly…..I’m not going crazy and messy) and I just decided that if it makes Audrey happy and keeps her interested and gets her to participate then I’m for doing it.
Along the OCD lines, Ava has finally given play-doh a chance! And she looooooves it! So we have had some wonderful afternoons of bubbles, stickers, play-doh and blocks the past few days.
And we’ve also introduced pictures at home for Audrey, I believe it’s officially called PECS. We take pictures of different things for her to choose what she wants to eat or play with. So in the kitchen we have different pictures of snacks and when she gets hungry she goes to them and picks one out and shows them to us and then we give her a snack. Little small baby steps of communication but they have made such a HUGE difference.
I’ll be back soon with a few more cards and some pictures of the sticker window!

Oh how it was so hard to wait until two weeks ago to place an order from the new SU catalog! I had circled and highlighted so many things when it first came out but there was Christmas and the girls birthdays to take care of first. So I finally got to order the stuff I’ve been seeing so many others make beautiful creations with!
This card was for todays SCS sketch challenge:
One of the things I ordered were the build a brads! Every time I would put my order in I would always forget to add them. So silly how such a little thing could make me so happy. I LOVE these little brads! I hope they don’t discontinue them any time soon.
And my restrain is caving and I think I may be ordering my first ever Bella’s this week. I’ve also been eyeing those cute High Hopes possums……they are so cute! Oh yeah, and some TCP stamps too. Hmmmm……I don’t suppose anybody wants to celebrate my un-birthday?
Off to watch “7th Heaven”……I do watch other shows than ‘Golden Girls’!
Stamps: One of a kind-SU
Ink: graphite black, purely pom
CS: chocolate, cocoa, pink, berry bliss DSP-SU white-papertrey
Accessories: copics, dimensionals, punches, HPH, velvet ribbon from M’s, build a brad
And if you threw a party, invited everyone you knew….
Recognize the title of my post? It’s only part of the most fabulous song ever, the theme song to ‘The Golden Girls’! I love my Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia!!! Every day my TiVo saves them for me and I watch them at night when the girls are asleep. It’s my favorite show of all time.
And Carolyn King must have been feeling my vibe when she designed her new set “Framed Flowers” because look at the sentiment she put in there:
That’s right…….Thank you for being a friend!
Besides that AWESOME stamp, the rest of the flower stamps in the set are wonderful too!
And here’s another card I made using Rupa Shevde’s new set “Thinking of you”. It’s also part of my challenge on the Gina K forums at SCS, to make a scene.
I am loving having a sewing machine! Bet you couldn’t tell! Now if I was only brave enough to change the thread by myself!!!
Well I’m off to relax, have some chocolate brownie ice cream and watch…..you guessed it “The Golden Girls”!

Last night I got around to playing in the sketch challenge before my nyquil kicked in. I just got some new goodies in the mail yesterday so I was itching to use them!
When I first saw the sets in the SAB catalog I wasn’t really thrilled. None of them called out to me. But since I HAD to choose some, I decided I would play with them. I really like this flower! It has such a nice space for coloring, and I love to color!
And the new silver hodgepodge hardware is just yummy! I am hoping and crossing my fingers that they keep it! I love all the extra decorative brads that are in the case instead of the scrolling wire pieces, or whatever their “real” name is.
Ok, it’s time to sleep. My 2nd dose of nyquil for the day is kicking in and making me extra loopy! I hope you all are having a great week!

I made this last night for the sketch challenge on splitcoast. I was able to use some more of my Cosmo Cricket ‘Hey Sugar’ papers! Le sigh!!!! I just love Cosmo Cricket!
This card should be getting some use soon. Between Sean’s family and friends and my family and friends we have about 17 birthdays in March to celebrate! Yowzas!!! It’s good to have some cards stockpiled for next month. And there are several male birthdays too, so I’ll have to lay off the pink, ribbon and sparklies!
This set by Melanie Muenchinger is just so cute. You can find it HERE on Gina K’s site. I’m pretty sure this set will get nice and inky before March even hits, the frog is calling my name!
So let me ask you a question……
Have you ever worked out so hard you wanted to throw up? Because that’s what happened this morning at the gym. My trainer I believe is out for blood!!! She looks all cute and innocent, but I’m starting to see her true self! It was odd because I didn’t do anything I haven’t done before, but I had just not done it in the order she had me do it and that kicked my butt! Just in case your wondering what my hour was like I’ll break it down;
Elliptical for 25, the scariest freakiest hardest stair machine for 15 (honest, I’ve never seen a stair machine like this before!) Pull ups and dips, then more pull ups and dips, crunches and then leg and arm lifts.
I haven’t done pull ups for a couple months, she had been torturing me with lots of free weights and medicine ball work. I do not like pull ups. I remember in junior high and elementary I would refuse to do them. And I don’t remember any of the girls being able to do them either.
We used to have the hardest gym tests, did you? They made us climb the rope to the ceiling (I have told my trainer to not even THINK about asking me to do that!) pull ups, sit ups, and then we had a wall with holes in it and you would climb up the wall by holding big sticks in your hands and putting them in the holes, no feet just arms. And of course running.
Somehow even though homework has multiplied by a billion for kids now I’m guessing that P.E. just isn’t as tough. I know some schools don’t even have P.E. And they don’t play dodge ball anymore. How are you supposed to learn to dodge?
Anyway, enough of me rambling about my physical pain and tales of yore. I have 2 projects I’m hoping to finish tonight, and they are very different for me. But for now I’m sitting on my behind because I don’t want to move!

This is for todays color challenge; orchid opulence, certainly celery and pumpkin pie……………………….you’ve got to be kidding me! I have never used orchid opulence until today, my ink pad was fresh as a baby and I had every single sheet still in the “don’t use pile” next to glorious green and yo yo yellow!
Anyway, I started the card this morning before taking Audrey to her OT and speech, I only got the flower and butterfly complete. Then I came back to it this afternoon and finished it. I decided to play a game called; ‘What would Faith do?’ (also known as markiesmom on SCS) She has been using a white gel pen lately making meticulous little dots all over her card which is gorgeous but I think my hand would fall off if I did it as often as her! And she always adds some hardware and lots of layers, so I did my version of what she uses. I had a hard time using 2 pieces of hardware on a single card……I’m stingy with that stuff even though there is NO POINT TO SAVE IT!!!!!
Eh……………….
Now I have to run, Audrey didn’t take an afternoon nap and I think she has caught Ava’s stomache bug. Not fun! But I’ll be off to work out soon and let my mom deal with cranky kids! Love you mom!!!!!
