Feet first…………

August 17th, 2008

This is me, jumping feet first into the unknown.  Scared, exhilirated yet THRILLED to share my original art with others. Just jumping in with both feet into a new area of my life and seeing where it takes me.

Bloggers challenge Friday…………it’s a birthday!

August 14th, 2008

I cannot believe I have missed the past several BC posts…..either I was on my back writhing in pain or at a slumber party with my 4 year old, I just couldn’t get to it. So I am very happy to be “back” to join the ladies for a fun day of birthday cards!

I’ve been drawing a lot lately, seems I almost have ideas in my head that are forcing their way out so I stopped resisting and put the pen to paper. It has now been 1 week and I’m really liking where this is going. So the card I am showing you tonight features NO stamps! It was hand drawn and colored with copics, jut for this card. And I’m trusting you will all be gentle with me since I feel as though I’m standing infront of you NAKED right now.

“happy birthday to a deer friend’

Now I’m going to laze around the house while the temperature cools down. I get so grumpy when it’s hot, I can’t eat, can’t sleep, dont want anyone touching me…..I just want to sit infront of the AC!

Today is Friday………we made it!

Baby bottoms

August 13th, 2008

I just absolutely ADORE this card! I love the little cheeks peaking out !!!!! When Ava saw this she said “Oh no, his diapers falling off, you have put it back on!”…….every time, it cracks me up.

It took me a week to get this done, that seems so sad. I had it colored and all ready to go but just couldn’t figure the placement. So it sat and I tweaked with it over and over and then finally thought it looked decent.

I’ve been working on some extracuricular activities this week that I’m super happy about, but not ready to share. Soon, though, maybe.

Happy hump day……so much closer to the weekend!

Tuesday time…..with Jacksonbelle~

August 11th, 2008

Well we have a super fun SKETCH this week to play with, and I just had to use some new Inka stamps on it. I used my cute ‘Gift from Kitty’ set on this one. And I’ll tell you why in a moment.

kitty-gift

So one of our cats, Connor is a bad….baaaaaaaaaaad cat. He is always leaving a surprise everyday, and it’s alays disgusting. I can’t put him into a pound where they will kill him, but no kill shelters wouldn’t take him because he wouldn’t be placed due to his behaviors. So we have him up for free but no offers. He is truly an annoying cat and I don’t like him 99% of the time. But he is always the first to snuggle me if I’m sick or sit with me.

I made this card to give to Sean hoping that it would make him smile. It did, but I dont think it helped how he feels about connor at all.

Be sure to play along with us and check out all the great samples!

Supplies:

Stamps: Gift from kitty-Inkadinkado
CS: mustard, cooca, olive, PTI white
Ink: adirondack black, copics, chocolate, olive
Accessories: CB folder, distress tool, sponge, punch, brad

Sweet babies!

August 9th, 2008

I’m here, I promise! And I’ve been creating too, just trying to get stuff mailed out on time or sent in for deadlines and that has delayed it being shown here. I’m so happy it’s the weekend and for us it is raining today. We have had high 80’s low 90’s heat all week and it’s just too exhausting, especially for the girls. It’s always a nice break to have the cool weather come back.

And now for a bit of eye candy, inspired by this weeks MFT sketch:

The front has magnets holding it closed, I love it! I used a ton of my making memories stuff on it that I love to hoard but not use.

Today I have to scoot to get my hair done and then work on a little project that I started yesterday. I can’t wait to show it. Have a great Saturday!

Jacksonbelle Tuesday- PINK!

August 5th, 2008

Well hello! I am so happy to say that I made 4, yes 4!!!! cards yesterday and photographed them, and I like most of them, lol! I think I am “back”.

Today is Jacksonbelle challenge day, and this week our challenge was to use pink. Not so very hard for a pink lover like me. And luckily I had just gotten some new goodies from Lindsey so of course I needed to use them.

merci

I didn’t notice the sewing stitch on this until I was done as I whipped right through it, but I think Ava was playing with my settings because it’s not quite how I thought it would be. Naughty girl…….

I’ve got 2 Inka stamps on this, quartet and the clear birds set, Cosmo Cricket Honey Pie, Prima Painterly petals Cavalier and some shimmerz angel wings!

And I just have to take a minute and say how COOL the shimmerz is! When Lindsey got it she was flipping out because she loved it, then the other girls of the DT started to go nuts over it. But I resisted it thinking I didn’t need it, I have spica copics, pearlescent watercolors, stickles, glitter, etc. I was soooo wrong! The shimmerz rocks because it is so different from all of them! It’s a liquid, but not thick or goopy and I can’t even imagine how long this jar will last since a little goes a long way. It doesn’t weigh down your paper or make it warp and you can paint it onto your stamp and then stamp with it. Now I need some more colors.

Ok, so be sure to check out everyone else for their take on pink!

    The parade of cards……

    August 2nd, 2008

I’m about to fall over with shock because I am actually uploading something new to my blog! I have been working on some cards for the past week but some I have torn apart several times and re-worked them. So I thought that first I would share some cards made with the new Unity releases.

This first card uses the fabulous cute set “Hey chick!”. And to explain the BRIGHT psychedelic theme I had just watched “Across the Universe” (Beatles musical)  the night before.

    flaunt-it

There isn’t much that didn’t get used on this card; copics, nesties, spica copics, stickles, rhinestones and a whole lot of Sassafras Lass Sunshine lollipop paper.

The next two cards use the Unity August Kit of the month “It’s the little things”, if you email Angela she can hook you up! Just follow the link and also take a peek at the new kit…….man it’s awesome!

    imagine-butterfly

I made the butterfly about a week ago and it didn’t have a home until yesterday. There is some angel wings shimmerz on the card, as well as a little pop of Cosmo Cricket Honey Pie.

    little-chick

Honey Pie paper was the inspiration for this one, as well as the blackboard shapes. The swirl under the chicks feet is from the journaling stamp, I just inked up the swirls, cut them out and flipped it upside down.

And now I’m off to ice my back! I’ve got some more cards to share and hopefully I’ll be back more often this week.

    Where am I hiding?

    July 30th, 2008

So sorry to be absent for this long! I have been having issues with my back so I haven’t been stamping in the evenings. I do have cards finished and images colored ready to go and be photographed so I’ll try to get back to my “job” today. I have a PT appointment this morning and then I’ll try to pop in before I go to the UW this afternoon.

    Thanks for popping in!

    Lost treasure

    July 25th, 2008

I can’t believe I’ve never shared this with you all on my blog! I’m glad I found it so I could redeem myself from my past 2 cards.

This uses the super cute Love is toxic set from Unity, some Prima paper from Jacksonbelle and it’s one of my favorite cards!

Ok, I’m off to my weekly slumber party sleepover with my Ava girl. Cookies, games, friendship bracelets, glow in the dark toys…….always fun!

    Quick and simple thank you

    July 25th, 2008

I needed to make some quick and simple thank you cards, which have proven to be very difficult! I am not a quick or simple gal, so I have made about 12 different cards each leaving me with the feeling of “Eeeew”. I should just get over it and make things I want since this is taking me just as long, maybe longer.

Anyway, here are the cards I made last night. So far these are the least horrible (be gentle with your comments please):

    simple-thank-yous

I like the one on the left better, BTW.

Both are using the same ingredients, PTI sweet blush, spring moss, lemon tart and white CS/ink/ribbon. Flirty flowers and believe from Unity stamps and Mambi rhinestones from Jacksonbelle.

Can I just take a minute and say how much I ADORE the PTI colors? I didn’t order the spring moss or lemon tart until last week. I really love SU mellow moss and barely banana so I thought I didn’t need another green or yellow. But I was needing a sweet blush reinker, so while I was on the PTI website I just decided to go for it. Anyway, the lemon tart is just the most perfect yellow ever! Putting it next to the barely banana was interesting, as it made the banana look more beige or pinky. And the moss is different enough to be in it’s own category. I still haven’t tried the brighter versions of PTI colors, maybe I’ll be brave some day and do it.

Happy Friday everyone! I am having a slumber party with my Ava tonight and hope to get a TON of sleep so I can feel energized again to create. I have been feeling less then creative this week.
